Food = Love

Photo of the two prettiest gals in the South, by Brooke CheshierWhat food or dish most says "love" to you? What wine?

My stepmom says it best. "In the South, isn't it Food = Love? Whether it's pain au chocolat or a a simple wedge of cheese, I'd love to know those dishes that make you feel cared for, comforted or adored.

More importantly, I'd love to know what foods or drinks you prepare or serve to show someone you love them.

Remember, love takes many forms...

You can definitely taste the difference when something is made with love, it doesn't matter what it is.

I tend to think it's comfort foods. I the south that would be chicken pot pie, chili, grilled cheese (I love mine with pesto) and tomato soup, and homemade chicken noodle soup. Now I'm hungry...

Yes, I could certainly go for a mozzarella grilled cheese with tomato soup right now.

All sparkling wine or is there one particular sparkler that really does it for you? NV Egly-Ouriet does it for me.

Strawberry shortcake ... I don't know why!

Simple, light, honest and sweet - add some homemade whipped cream, and I can totally understand why!

Spaghetti carbonara. Any time of day.
Maybe with a Barbera or good Nero D'Avola. Or both.
